And this is utterly absurd.
No amount of on-message cobblers will detract from the fact that 4 year olds will not have a meaningful opinion. They just won't.
Earlier in this thread somebody stated there are more than two genders. Without wishing to be deliberately obtuse (I'll leave that to ummm if his/her two posts on this thread are anything to go by) what are they? Transfluidlinearcuriousbifurcatedismorphic, or whatever, is not a gender for a 4 year old. Gender for a 4 year old is sex. They are a boy or a girl. They will not have a subjective opinion on what they 'think' they are, and no amount psychobabble arsewater can detract from this.

If your child doesn't have a meaningful opinion, deskdiary, then the choice is simple for you- don't ask them (it's not compulsory) and just tick the relevant box. I'm sure that's what maybe 99% of parents will do. For the other 1% some might have issues they want to explore with the school or discuss sensitively with their child- and that can be done carefully without saying "okay fill this form son/are you bi or what"
Basically a clumsy attempt by one Council to be 'inclusive' is the subject of this thread. They stated that if parents are unwilling to tick a male or female box they should talk to the school. Daft, but harmless.
To sex up the lame story a bit, all kinds of untruths have been attached to it...
- the 4 year olds have been asked to specify their gender - They haven't.
- this is taking away their innocence - It isn't.
- they had a list of 25 genders to choose from - No they didn't.
- the parents had to do this - Wrong it was not compulsary.
People peddling those lies have an agenda as equally as nasty as the Council. Why not just stick to the facts instead of making stuff up?
