Would he like his US to be partly governed by a amalgamation of Mexican and South American countries?

No the US are not in the least bothered about the British people, they just selfishly want to use UK as a voice in European affairs.

The average Joe is entitled to state their opinion, in places such as here, because they don't have more influence than another poster arguing a different viewpoint. That's part of a debate. Although even then those outside the UK should be careful since the same, 'not your concern', accusation could be levelled at them; depending on what was written....

He should keep his advice for the U.S.and not interfere in our politics.
AOG, the Americans used to meddle by destabilising governments. We should be thankful Obama is just voicing a sensible opinion.
Obama and the US finance chiefs are not giving an opinion on what's best for Britain, but on what's best for the US. Oh and a large part of Obama's visit is to promote the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership, aimed at forcing Europe to accept huge quantities of the GM food produced in the US.
Just like blair and bush..favours getting called in...

he should keep his face out of our politics its got nothing to do with him...the land of the septics is better off with us out of the eussr...in the future when we are just a nothing area of the great eussr empire the septics wont be able to rely on us in any way or form, we wont be in a position to make any key or major decisions whatsoever , our overlords in germa...sorry brussells will be in charge.

the eussr will be more of a threat to them than the UK ever was or will be in all its wonderful strategic planning
Sandy, I don't think the advocates of Brexit would consider his opinion sensible.
He's entitled to an opinion and we're entitled to not pay heed.

Anyone watch Question Time last night? By the reaction of that audience I don't think the Brexits have anything to worry about, no matter what the polls say.
let's see, how many trillion are the US in debt?
And from "the most anti-British president there has ever bee" too. Farage

In today's telegraph, Obama says that the US sacrifice in the Second World War means America has a stake in the referendum debate.

He must be joking. The reality is that the USA only got involved in WWII when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour. They vehemently refused to have anything to do with the war in Europe until then and would stood by to watch Britain razed to the ground.
Much as I like Mr Obama, I do think he taking a step too far here.

His notion that the deaths of Allied soldiers in WWII mean that the U.S. has a stake, and indeed an opinion, on the future of the EU is frankly not sustainable.

I doubt that anyone will take a lot of notice of his view - but he is entitled to voice it - that's freedom of speech.
I suppose we should be grateful for Bill Paxton cracking the enigma code, I mean that Turing bloke was getting nowhere till the septics came along!
"the most anti-British president there has ever bee"

presumably the name of George Washington is unfamiliar to Farage?

Not forgetting they also refused to support us over the Falklands.

They may have entered later, but a visit to the American war cemeteries in France - the scale is an awesome experience, (as is all the others including Canada). Though I'm not sure why it gives them a stake in the referendum, if that were true it would mean that so do all the commonwealth members too.
The Americans didn't fight to liberate Britain (we weren't occupied). They fought to liberate France and put an end to all nazi ambitions.

aog;//they also refused to support us over the Falklands.//

That isn't true, we didn't need ground support, but we got support from America in the form of in-flight refuelling of our aircraft.
AOG

But I thought that Question Time producers always rig the audiences in favour of left wing and liberal supporters.

Has something changed?

Re: Obama...there are important strategic and economic concerns that America has and Obama is voicing his opinion.

Out of interest, is it his intervention that you object to - or his support of the remain campaign?

Would you have raised this question had he come out strongly in favour of the U.K. leaving the EU?
//Though I'm not sure why it gives them a stake in the referendum, if that were true it would mean that so do all the commonwealth members too.//

Nice observation Khandro. Plus the American Indians might be entitled to more say in the Senate. Didn't they die in their hundreds of thousands fighting for freedom from oppression.
AOG,.....would you and the DM have mentioned this if Obama had come out in favour of us leaving the EU.....I think not !
yes some bizarre interpretation of history here, as they did support us with supplies and armaments before they came in as to WW2.

By the way, read the Obama article, please - if you do, you will realise that he opined only after making the following conditional statement, "But also I understand that there's a spirited campaign underway here. My country is going through much the same. And ultimately, the question of whether or not the UK remains a part of the EU is a matter for British voters to decide for yourselves."
