Just hours after she replaced Chief Constable Crompton, Dawn Copley has stepped down......because she herself is being investigated !

Why was she appointed and why did she accept, when she was already under suspicion in the Great Manchester Police ?

You couldn't make all this if you tried....its a complete shambles.

The South Yorks Police are sleep-walking to oblivion here.

Merge them into a Yorkshire Police - as they should do with Devon & Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Avon - in this day, they don't need five Chief Constables, five finance directors, five HR directors, five public relations offices (though Yorks probably needs all it can get).....all that money to be saved and directed to the front line - and I am sure it is the same for Yorkshire....

Let's also remember that not ALL of them succumbed to perjury. Many did themselves proud that day with their efforts, not all should be tarred with the same brush.

I dont remember any senior officer of the SYP saying " a lot of us seniors know the fans were as sober as judges but we cant stop the rank and file from saying the opposite. " but please disabuse me

where is the evidence of the other senior officers putting the record straight, accepting responsibility for their actions and saying the fans were sober
