Although, having said that, I'm not sure how to answer it. Presumably by nature of his being Muslim, from a Muslim family, you'd see him as loyal to his God above all else. Maybe so. But people can be loyal to their religion while keeping that relatively separate from their public life.

jim360 /// But I don't see how a Muslim getting elected democratically even remotely brings us closer to that. If Khan were genuinely a threat, or more to the point, genuinely tried to impose some sort of totalitarian Muslim regime... well, good luck with that if he cared to try. It's not really an office that lends itself to imposing unchecked religious dogma.///

Well, Sadiq's playing a very long game if he's attempting to impose fundamentalist Islam on this country... starting by, for example, voting to extend marriage to same-sex couples, in favour of equal rights for gay people, and for equality and human rights in general; and, rather than exapnd this list too far, has never ignored the Labour party whip if he's voted. So I'd say his loyalties were to Labour first when it came to politics.
On balance, I'd be inclined to fear that rather than his religion, that seems to be something he's done a good job of practising only private.
