Any change has risk and opportunity and it is one's personal desires that dictate the assumptions and weightings you give to the calculations when trying to find a conclusion you want.
I can see Mr. Mogg's point of view. I think it is unlikely to achieve a lot though. Power folk tend to get away with a lot most of the time. I don't think this will, and maybe shouldn't, result in Mr. Carney spending more time with his family.

If he just issued the warning without any factual backing for his opinion then yes, I think he should be sacked.....and I include in this a statement along the lines of “IF, because of leaving, this happens, AND that happens AND the other happens...” with no proof that those things would happen.
If he said" this is what we believe will happen because of these unassailable facts," then that is part of his job.

Of course he shouldn't be sacked. It is the duty of the Governor to advise the Government on its policies.
The Govenor is Independent of the Government as everyone knows, so the Government can not sack him. And Cameton and Osborne agree with him, so are not going to push for his removal.
Rees Mogg is a bit of a young fogey and deeply out of touch with everyone.

I can't help but notice that the out crwod are helped by everything, apparently:
If someone points out that there are obviously risks involved, this helps the out crowd.
If someone points out the potential benefits of leaving, this helps the out crowd.
If no-one says anything to try and persuade people that maybe the UK would be better off staying in the EU, or no better off by leaving, this too helps the out crowd, presumably.
This sort of approach to statements made by people in favour of staying in the EU reminds me of the "ducking stool" witch trial mentality.

^^ I have to agree, this is what I have though for a long time.
Every time someone, bank governor, world leader, economist, industry spokesman or what ever makes a statement supporting the EU , the only answer 'leave' have is to shout 'not fair' 'keep out of it' 'mind your own business' .
This to me is a convincing argument that they do not have a valid case and just do not like anyone expressing an opinion that undermines their own view. I have never seen an effective rebuttal of such a statement by 'leave' just outrage that anyone should dare to speak on the subject.
