Sounds like they are steering their daughters towards being boys to me. I feel sorry for these kids as they grow up. Also I bet these mothers are a real bundle of laughs on a night out, the only topic of conversation will be politics and feminism, yawn.

/// I think the child should be given a choice to wear pink or not, ///
I don't think that a child has a choice in what to wear, during the first few years of it's life.
I wonder what colours most mother's dress their babies in, would it be blue for a boy or pink for a girl?
But then 'today' who knows, perhaps some more 'liberated mothers' would choose to take the Vice Versa option?

When I had my first daughter I had been bought many gifts of pretty dresses and nightgowns for her - I soon realised these were most impractical for a newborn as they end up over their faces as they wriggle.
Out came the babygros in a rainbow of hues including spotted, striped and ones with cute animals on them.
As both her and then my second daughter grew clothes were bought to suit the occasion and they were allowed input as they matured.
Exactly the same with toys, hobbies and anything else.
I too have a pink obsessed Granddaughter and there's nothing wrong with that.
