Initial reports (according to the BBC) state that the attacker was wearing a suicide vest, which would suggest a terrorist attack.

But that's not been confirmed yet.

The earlier mention (on the BBC site) that the attacker was wearing a suicide vest lead me to the same conclusion.

It's going to put a section of the American population in a very difficult position. If it's an Islamic extremist attack on gay people, do they condemn, or do they stay silent?
