/// Witnesses to the Cox attack said the accused, 52-year-old Thomas Mair, was heard saying "Britain first, keep Britain independent, Britain always comes first". Such comments added to speculation the murder was politically-motivated, making it a potentially defining moment in the referendum. ///

/// Opinion polls have painted a contradictory and volatile picture of British public opinion with Remain ahead for much of the campaign but Leave taking a late lead before the Cox murder. ///

No bloody way, Lynn.
Well if we're going to be honest:

Number of Remain-supporting MPs murdered by right wing nutjobs: 1

Number of Leave-supporting MPs murdered by left wing nut jobs: 0

These are the facts.

Let those numbers remain unchanged.

No-one should be swayed by the this. Some no doubt will, but hopefully most have made up their minds.
// If people are swayed into voting 'In' by this tragedy, it doesn't say much for the common sense of the electorate!! //

Many 'Outers' are voting to cut immigration, when leaving will not have any effect on numbers coming. So common sense seems to be in short supply.
NO!
You do talk some rot, gromit. In case you weren't aware, Steptoe told his young fans on Sky last night., that there can be no upper limit on immigration while we're in the EU.
Are you listening to Clogg's ***, perhaps?
//there can be no upper limit on immigration while we're in the EU. //

^THAT is common sense.
It is no good us on here debating if the murder of Jo Cox should be used to support the 'Remain' camp or not, the facts show that for many thousands of voters it HAS made up their mind to vote 'Remain'. A 5% increase in those intending to vote 'Remain' in the 24 hours since the murder, and that is from the Daily Mail who have never deviated from their support for 'Leave'.
We can argue it on here but it will not change people's minds. AB members are a tiny % of the population, just a few hundred at most among tens of millions.
The entire debate has seen self-serving Politicians from remain and leave trying to convince us that their way is the right way. However,it seems to me that it is still very much guess work as to what will happen if we vote to stay or leave on Thursday and many will be voting on the strength of which politicians they like more or dislike the least. On the sad subject of Jo Cox murder, one nameless MP from the remain side was reported as saying "this could play very well for us" which really tells you all you need to know about the sort of people orchestrating this entire event.
I will, Lynn.
... one nameless MP from the remain side was reported as saying "this could play very well for us"

How very mysterious.

Or made up by some parasitic journalist sexing up his story.
