For trying to oust Corbyn.
Corbyn faces no confidence vote of Labour MPs.
It would be funny that Labour are imploding if it wasn't at such a serious time.

The present Labour MPs seem incredibly out of touch with voters. Labour voters voted for Brexit in vast numbers particularly in Labour heartlands, the North East, Wales. Yet they nearly all Labour MPs are pro EU. They don't seemed to learned from their annilation in Scotland, and give voters what they want.

Are the Labour Party finished?

I'm not sure I have the power to pick you MM :P

But just to be clear I'm talking about a General Election in six months to a year, and I'm not necessarily calling for it. I just think it's highly likely to happen. And, perhaps, a little naive to assume that the choice would still be only Labour vs. Tory.

Well maybe this is your big chance, "Cometh the moment, cometh the man!"

:0)
As I said earlier, you can't rule out a GE. If the government that forms can't govern, they must get a mandate from the people.
jim...I could rule the world..lol....Scotland needs to calm down now..dear Nicola is becoming hysterical..Scotland needs stability..NOT nicola ! see McAllister's comments..judicial minister she is mad...
In the meantime, John McDonnell just came out with the political quote of the century:

"Who trusts the polls any more? I've seen polls that show we are on the path to victory."

Sorry Svelk, but why would anyone vote UKIP at the next election? //

Because they are the only party who actually listened to the electorate and through their pressure on the Tories got most of us the referendum and departure we wished for.
People will judge this the party that listens and does what it says. I will add a few groats with Svejk in 2020.

I like Alan Johnson.. Just what skeletons does he have DTC. Or are you the only one "" in the know""?
Hilary Benn was the only Labour Minister I could happily listen to and not want to strangle. A very big loss for his party imo.Sacked for daring to disclose a lacklustre, useless, despot with 'loser' tattooed on his forehead. No real surprise there. You toe the party line,or the Commisar gives you the chop. Way to go with Noo Labour!
Hilary Benn might just be Labours only hope of ever getting elected again - if he can drag them out of the dark ages.

Not sure you are understanding the situation. Benn is still in the party, just not in the Shadow Cabinet.
He has plotted an ambush for Corbyn tomorrow, so it his sacking was inevitable.

If Corbyn loses a no confidence vote, a new leadership election will have to take place. I wonder if he could still get 35 MPs' nominations?
if there are mass resignations today as predicted, a good few of Mr Corbyn's detractors will vanish in an instant. all he'd need then is a number of strategic sackings to rid his cabinet of the blairites that don't represent the wider party. if he's canny, Jeremy could face down his critics and remodel the party in one hit.
"It would be funny that Labour are imploding"

whats funny is that statement...this joke of a party have been imploding for yonks...its whether theyve totally imploded and are about to go supernova....
It's almost as if everyone's forgotten that the country's Prime Minister has resigned, and the Chancellor has vanished.
// Hilary Benn was the only Labour Minister I could happily listen to and not want to strangle. //

he doesnt have the mad staring eyes that his father notably had .....

nor does he spend 5 mins composing and recomposing a sentence in his speeches ( golly ! ) as his father did
leading someone to comment
second class ideas with first class presentation ....
Jim....its just not convenient at the moment, for our right-wingers to be bothered with that. Somebody they all voted for enthusiastically last May, and again in May again this year, has announced his intention to resign, and his next door neighbour is nowhere to be seen !

We appear to have no effective PM or Chancellor, but they would rather gloat over the affairs of other parties !
I suspect a lot of those people held their noses and voted conservative, mikey, because they feared the supreme idiot more than they disliked Cameron.

Retro, I think you misunderstand me on UKIP. I have voted for them in the past and voted Leave.

My point was that now we have had the referendum, there is no point voting for them in the future. Last time they got one MP, next time if they stand at all they will get none.

Why waste your vote?
@mikey444

coming from you thats priceless...best laugh of the day so far..keep em comin'
