No turning back could mean, "Yes we are going, but we will comply with all your terrible demands, that we exited to get away from, in order to be part of the single market". I don't see there being the same enthusiasm to stand firm by a 'remainer' as there would be for an 'leaver', who hopefully wouldn't see the situation as a 'single market at any cost' one. A 'remainer' is more of a risk for it all going pear shaped.

So no split is going to effect the final vote that much. The question is how relatively popular Johnson, Gove, May, et al. are with the party members.
