And that creature became a Peace Envoy!!
Whatever else Blair did, he got rid of Major and the Tories, and won three consecutive victories for the Labour Party. In my opinion he would have won a fourth time, had he not handed over the reins to Brown.
Whatever his motivation, he deserves an Oscar for that performance.
Is there list for volunteers to flay bits of skin off him? I'll volunteer.

Stupid people voted for him three times. The fact that he is a lying conniving conman went by their limited perception and intelligence. They got what they deserved.
Sheeple are still sheeple, nothing changes.
david, how very true.
I am so very glad that I looked at Blair's eyes and changed my vote at the last minute. Poor Mr J2 actually voted for him and has regretted it ever since.
Sincerity, it's been said, is everything, if you can fake that you've got it made.
and yet somehow these stupid people of limited perception and intelligence are entrusted with a referendum on the country's future.
^^ Mr. J2 is not a 'sheeple', he's very intelligent - it was the situation at the time. I very nearly voted for Blair myself!
jno, //and yet somehow these stupid people of limited perception and intelligence are entrusted with a referendum on the country's future. //

Oh no! Was it really just Labour voters who were allowed to vote in the referendum? Oops!!

Never one to let a bit of political point scoring slip by you mikey!!!
Your former Labour leader is the only ex P.M. in my lifetime to be labelled a war criminal and you have the gall to laud his victory over Major and the Tories as a more important achievement than taking the UK to a war on lies and tub thumping self aggrandisement whereby 179 UK men and women lost their lives needlessly as well as thousands of Iraqui civilians.
He and his cronies, Straw and Campbell have blood on their hands and I have nothing but contempt for them. If you are representative of your average Labour supporter then I have contempt for them also.
You are one who will support your party, right or wrong, just because your dad did and his family before him. Big deal but your point scoring has no place on this thread and to show decent respect for those thousands who died because of Blair and Labour policy you should withdraw that shameful post.
// Your former Labour leader is the only ex P.M. in my lifetime to be labelled a war criminal//

um no not really
Churchill - destruction of Dresden
Possibly true. Do you understand context, or are you just a Pedant?
Stick to Artemus Ward. Try to avoid efforts at irony.

What?? Is there a post on this thread that doesn't indulge in point-scoring?

And as PP points out, you're not even right.
He should have become an actor after he retired. I thought it was all phoney.
We all thought it was right at the time. It was the alleged stocks of chemical weapons and nerve gas that made our minds up. Of course that all turned out to be a hoax. Even MI5 knew that the intelligence was wrong but Blair was so determined to achieve his objective that he refused to listen. He was also warned repeatedly that his (or rather Bush's ) plan would cause the rise of 'Islamic State' but made sure the warnings were not made public or even put to the house of commons.
