I do feel for the families however my own opinion is that this was inevitable! Some of the police have no respect for people of colour and the number of coloured deaths at the hands of the police cannot be justified.

Just like you NOM was obviously delighted in the way her thread was going, one does not have to be a rocket scientist to realise that is the reason she did not mention it?

I usually take for granted that other ABers do not support acts of murder. I see no point in myself condemning them, this thread is a debate not a memorial book.
I usually stay clear of threads where I am supposed to be more outraged or disgusted than the next person. I see no point in those. This thread isn't one of those.
There have been a steady stream of videos of people dying unnecessarily by police bullets. Not helped by acquittals of any wrong doing when the deaths are investigated. There are lessons to be learned, but the US authorities seem determined not to learn them.

AOG, let's nip this in the bud before it gets even more ridiculous. I was neither delighted nor disappointed in the way the thread was going. I have no agenda, hidden or transparent.
Although no innocent police officers deserved to get shot, very few people are surprised at the backlash of the recent unnecessary slaughter of two black men.
Their mission is to "serve and protect" so why do the police think it's okay to just draw their weapons without just cause?

If I visit America again and am approached by an armed police officer I'd be rather wary......scared in fact......was he there to "serve and protect"....or was he a madman with a gun....?
The lawless and violent behaviour of some officers has removed any respect/trust I once had for the whole force......
