You asked the question, "How can you earn respect from someone you don't know?
Seemingly you didn't know the answer so I obligingly provided you with one, also suggesting that you to try it, in case it didn't work.
So how can that be possibly rude, isn't that what this site is all about?
/// AOG - don't be so rude. I treat everyone with respect!!! ///
Obviously you knew the answer, so I am a little confused why you bothered to ask.

Baldric, how do you know that anyone on this thread has not suffered violence at any point in their lives?
How do you know someone hasn't been subjecting to repeated violence in the past and now abhors acts of violence. Goodness me!
Baldric, do we know what was said before the record button was pressed? Do we know for certain that Castile wasn't asked to produce his documents? Do we know whether he was asked if he was carrying a weapon? In short, no.
I'm still of the same opinion I was earlier, that the Officer should have shown more restraint.

// but all the same the point is that it simply cannot be acceptable that pulling over a car for a minor traffic offence ends this way. //
It is not acceptable either for a cop to be killed for pulling a car for a minor traffic infringement but it happens!! Very easy to see one side of the picture when it grabs the headlines on one side but rarely is reported for the other.
If no civilian were allowed to carry a handgun in the U.S. the cops would still carry them!

/// Yes, but he was licensed to carry the weapon -- and anyway I thought the right to bear arms was inalienable in the US for some reason. ///
And that is why we hear of cases such as this, be them police officers, blacks, whites, law-abiding or criminals.
Until the US law that allows anyone to carry a gun is altered, and the general US cop stops carrying them, this type of thing will happen over and over again.
But then that is another topic for debate.

In that I agree with you. Open Carry (or at least concealed carry) is something that's very important to gun rights activists, on the ground that it makes a statement to any criminals. But clearly policemen see anyone with a gun as a danger that has to be taken seriously. Which in some senses is entirely reasonable, although it's hard not to wonder about the racial aspects too.
But yes, the obsession with guns is costing lives, and makes situations where no-one should be in any danger suddenly life-threatening for all involved

The occupants may have not know they were pulled over for a minor traffic offence, they could have been carrying drugs and then thought that the police might search them, assuming this, then it is very likely that he may take extreme measures to avoid a drugs charge.
One could say similar regarding say a drunken motorist, who may put his foot down so as to escape the police, then later to knock down and kill a pedestrian, all that, when all the police wanted was to inform him that he had a tail light out.

// You asked the question,"How can you earn respect from someone you don't know? // AOG -> Umm
is of course taken out of context and the question is posed to Baldric who volunteered: respect has to be earned
and Umm had correctly concluded that if Baldric said was true,
then stranger upon stranger meeting ( with no chance to earn respect ) could be fatal for one or other
It is clear that Philadro's girlfriend viddie was started after the shooting
and that she was recounting in front of the guy, her version of what had happened. He never says " no ma'am I nevuh asked for his papers"
and she never asks for medical help either .....
