I didn't vote as I was so undecided but was probably leaning towards the stay campaign.

I think people should accept the vote but completely understand some voicing their dislike.

Let the shysters fight it out with the EU at their own expense. The EU have nailed their colours to the mast and want us out pronto.
This was labelled as a 'one off referendum in a lifetime'. Cameron and remainer May both said it will go ahead and must.
The backlash on the street would be unimaginable if the government reneged. It would be a tight squeeze to get 1,000 Barristers swinging from lamp posts down the Mall but manageable.

No the referendum was never legally binding. It doesn't need 1000 barristers to point that out. It does need them probably to investigate the legal implications.

It is sour grapes. As far as the referendum was concerned the result was decided. It is a done deed. Now the future has to be decided ,now that we have voted to leave, as to how we leave and with what.

Whether it is legally binding or not is not the point.Theresa May said ,when the result was announced, that , if elected, she would not go against the wishes of the people.

The best reason not to proceed with Brexit would be if more than half the people in the country did not want it.

I'm surprised that those who want to reverse the decision don't follow that route.

A tedious election process, a vote denied to 16-17 year olds, floods in London and no doubt many other factors resulted in a 72% turnout and only about 17 million of a UK population of 65.1 million voting for Brexit - with less than 40% of the electorate voting for Brexit and only 2% of those that did vote voting one way rather than the other, resulting in the Brexit outcome.

There is a very real possibility that the majority of the country does not want Brexit and, if I was seeking to reverse the decision, that's the route I'd take.

they're quite correct. Referendums are only advisory, parliament is sovereign; and yes, they do need to think carefully about how it's to be done, not just rely on the wild guesses and deliberate deceptions spouted during the campaign.

It was one of the largest turn outs since the war. Tough ifthe lazy couldn't get off their backs to vote. We were all warned it was a 'once in a lifetime' referendum in plenty of time and I heard no objections to its legality before the UNEXPECTED leave vote won.
Now we have the losers crying foul like spoilt kids. Do the remainers all go running back to their newsagents if their lottery ticket doesn't win?

I am really getting sick of all this now. he 1001 reasons for another referendum, the 1001 reasons not to brexit, the reasons for the government not to invoke article 50, the 1000 un-named barristers trying to tell the government what to do etc. We had the referendum. The majority voted to leave. Get over it. May has announced today (for the second time) that BREXIT means BREXIT. There will be no second referendum and we are coming out of the EU. Get used to it!

Furthermore, and to me the most serious issue, is that of the 4 constituent parts of the UK only 2 voted to leave. That should at least give everyone pause for thought

But it's dangerous of you (and May) to cite "the wishes of the people" when you don't know what the wishes of all of the people actually are. If somebody was to show that the majority of the people did not want Brexit, your own argument could be turned against you ...

I really don't the government or indeed many thought the vote would be " out" hence, poor/ no preparation made.
