(clutching at straws) - yes Jno. that's what I meant.
//beyond the pale.//

Does that mean its all white?
Grasscarp....I thought that I might have been wrong...so I checked !

( but not until after your comment ! )

Here is the clarification (which was news to me)

This 'pale' is the noun meaning 'a stake or pointed piece of wood', a meaning now virtually obsolete except as used in this phrase, but still in use in the associated words 'paling' (as in paling fence) and 'impale' (as in Dracula movies).

Beyond the paleThe paling fence is significant as the term 'pale' came to mean the area enclosed by such a fence and later just figuratively 'the area that is enclosed and safe'. So to be 'beyond the pale' was to be outside the area accepted as 'home'.
The Pale is in Dublin, and was I think, deemed to be a wealthy and desirable area to live.
//'The Pale' is an area of Ireland from the North wall of Dundalk to the South of Dublin City. This has always been (and will continue to be) the most developed an wealthy area of the country. Anybody who comes from outside of this area is said to be from 'Beyond the Pale' meaning they are of a lower social class and intellect purely because of their geographical location//
Or.?

//A pale is a protected area or jurisdiction. To be outside or beyond it is to be outside of civilization--hence, uncivilized and with no expectation of civilized treatment. //
anyway back to the OP..

shes just another white hating leftie, envious of anybody thats in a better social position than herself...gotta love these politics of envy lefties
she appears to be white, so why would she hate her own ethnic grouping?
//so why would she hate her own ethnic grouping?

Million Dollar Question. A.B.C.?
stop acting so naive...its a white guilt trip thing as you well know...
She's white, lives in a country that allows her to state her views and is on £80K pa. That's pretty privileged too in my book.
I'm white and have never been on a guilt trip about it.
baz.....is it? erm....ok.
Aside from the content of the post - isn't it somewhat naive of a woman in her public position to post something so contentious on a public forum, and not expect someone somewhere to pick up on it?
I would call it stupid!
Perhaps it has something to do with the glass she always seems to have in her hand in most of the pictures you see of her.
The nasty little champagne socialist should be fired.

I am a staunch Republican, but there are lines not to cross.
Noooo...how will the world of facilities management cope without her and her amazing skills ?
