This was mentioned on Radio 4 this morning. If he was housed with other Category A prisoners whose radicalization was already accomplished, hence their plight, and segregated from those serving shorter sentences, would this be a problem?

So what do we do - string him up or let him out?
Question Author
Neither. Let him serve whatever sentence he gets in the company of other irredeemable extremists.
Keep in in solitary.
Sandy, if you do that then wont they wind each other up more and more together with plotting, then first one out the door commits an atrocity and murders God knows how many.

Solitary seems a good compromise, but the HRA pondlife lawyers would have a field day with that seeking com-pen-say-shum. We'd just end up giving the scumbag a £1M.
I think he should be kept in isolation as well, but its not really practical to do so. Perhaps he should be kept away from other Muslims, if that is possible ?

Here in NI Loyalist and Republican prisoners were allowed to serve their time in segregated units. Some would say they couldn't have become any worse than they were when they went into prison.
If Choudary was housed with people who had little, or no, prospect of getting released and kept away from the impressionable there should be no problem.
Solitary confinement isn't the answer.
The regulations make it almost impossible to keep prisoners in solitary confinement for any significant period of time. Typically about 40 are confined at any time out of a population of about 80,000.
Sandy........if my memory serves me correctly, the main reason behind segregating Loyalists and Republican prisoners, was that if hadn't have done so, they would happily have killed each other !
Question Author
Mikey, that was a consideration. The Republicans managed to smuggle a small bomb in The Crum and leave it in the dining room. It exploded late when the Loyalists were queueing for their meal and two were killed.
he's not going to be sentenced for another month. who's to say he won't get community service?

Let's risk it eh?
10 ft deep hole him in it then fill it with cement!
radicalisation of convicts is something the mandarins are aware of
have been shoulder shrugging and hand wringing over for some time
Mushroom - it's a slight, very slight, possibility, but I reckon he'll get the full whack!
I'd go with solitary. If he mixes with already radicalised people he will inflame them and reduce their chances of being de-radicalised.

But yet they let in Imams to preach hate!!!
Question Author
Could the authorities not find Imams who are pacifists?
