Last month, we found out that being a professional psychologist lying flat on the ground doesn't stop bullets, and now being a pastor with hands raised doesn't work either:

As these gentlemen weren't gangsters, exactly what should black people do now?

Read your link AOG....the window was rolled up, and anyway, there is no indication that he was reaching anywhere, other than the sky.
For goodness sake, AOG, no it isn't racist to reply to your comment!!!

The plan has to come from the police and the community working together to improve relations and perceptions at all levels.

DB....your figures may be correct....in fact I suspect they probably are, but what has that got to do with killing an innocent man ?

As it stands at the moment, the Police Woman acted far too rashly, resulting in an entirely unnecessary death.
Do you think "bit twitchy" covers this off eh?

SB....he had his bloody hands in the air....what should he have done....got down on his knees like a Nun and started praying ?

( Actually, that might have helped)
Basically kill them all and let god sort it out?

Makes me laugh when our arm chair critics lambaste the police no matter what nation.

They don't have to take to the streets everyday, knowing that there is a chance that they may encounter such situations in which they may have to make split second decisions, which would make a difference of whether or not they return home safely at the end of their shift.
Are you defending this, AOG?
I think mikey and others will be well aware that it's a dangerous job, divebuddy, but they are professionals and we expect them to do the job in a way that is equally fair to all sections of the community and in line with all protocols

Unlike you, I don't find this debate amusing in any way shape or form.

That said, respecting the police for doing a difficult job does not equate with accepting that they are gunning down innocent civilians without apparent provocation.

/// SB....he had his bloody hands in the air. ///

Couldn't had done he wasn't shot at that time.

But to be serious he did not have his hands in the air when he was shot.

*** Tulsa police officers also were flying above the scene in a helicopter, capturing the incident from an on-board camera. Footage from multiple police cameras show Crutcher walking toward his SUV in the middle of the road, hands raised, followed closely by Shelby and three other officers. They approach Crutcher, who continued to walk back to his car, where he appeared to move his hands toward the vehicle. ***
Why can't they shoot to wound if they're that twitchy? It's not like there wasn't enough of them..

That split second decision AOG that a man whose car has stalled in the road could be about to reach for a gun and kill the FOUR police officers who have turned up with a gun OR get his driving license and insurance papers.
ummmm

/// Are you defending this, AOG? ///

I am neither defending it or supporting it, but just giving an opposite opinion to those who are always quick to accuse the police, especially when a white police officer and a black person are involved, especially when none of us were there, to know exactly the true circumstances of what took place.

What's happened to the usual suspects remark
" you are innocent until proven guilty".
