Are you asking what I would have done if the gull had attacked me? Taken evasive action - what else!

If I understood that the gull was attacking me because its chick was in my garden, I would have put the chick outside my garden.

I can't comment on what the lady may or may not have been thinking - neither I would suggest, can you, but I have commented on the information you have given me, but with no link, it's not much to go on.

If attacked I defend myself. Flight most likely if teeth and claws are concerned, returning the hostility if not. No creature is so protected that it can attack with immunity. Yes move the chick, perhaps to the dustbin.

I woulda beaten it with my umbrella, screaming shrilly

and small children would gather around, gawking with fingers in their mouths and pointing

and some ( musically gifted but with bad memories ) would start doing the shower scene music - gneet ! gneet ! gneet! from Psycho - in time with the umbrella strikes

and I would shout - "that is from Psycho you dimwits and not The Birds - are you all from AB ? " ...... ( ter daah !)

and one would shout back " I put "spyro" or whaddeva foo de google translator and it didnt fink aught" - and I would shout - ah case proven, you ARE from AB.....

and then I would go in an watch a video - can you guess which - probably of the fight with the gull - and reflect on the frailness of humanity and how boiled sea gull doesnt taste very nice
