Despicable...not just Trumps words...but the fact that several in here can say " he did not say that". He did...he was speaking about and within the context of, the terminally ill,and no one else. And...there were people laughing. Sometimes the human race is beyond my comprehension....

I can't tell if you like him or not divebuddy.

Here are the objectionable remarks he made:-
"I don't care how sick you are," the Republican nominee said.
"I don't care if you just came back from the doctor and he gave you the worst possible prognosis, meaning it's over
To be fair, ever since Trump was damaged in his poll ratings when Clinton used the savagely underhand tactic of letting him speak in the debate so that everyone could hear how ridiculous he sounded, the man's getting pretty desperate.
If everyone thinks he's desperate and he's a loony, etc., etc., why instantly grab everything he says for dissection? I really wish people would stop being so precious.
I guess because this desperate racist misogynist lying loony who never has any apparent grasp of what he says and does and no appreciation for consequences is also still in with a decent chance of becoming president of the US?

I don't think being silent about this is responsible. I'm not altogether convinced that being loud about it works either, mind, but in general it's better to have tried to expose the lies, fraud, deception and incompetence, rather than to ignore it. The man is too self-publicising for silence to work.
Oh gawd!

Isn't that what is normal ( regarding politicians , especially those seeking public office ) . by the public , irrespective as to where your allegiance / sympathies lies ?
Bazile, yes it is normal. That's what's so sad about it.
As I say, the opposite is likely doomed to failure. I'm not exactly surprised you don't agree, but it doesn't mean much really.

It's important to expose the fallacies of supporting Trump as far as possible. I don't see this being achieved in any other way than by, you know, talking about them.
But , why should 'we' not comment - should we just let his contentious remarks go by ? ( given that a lot of people consider most of his remarks contentious )
divebuddy - //Oh. Have you added mind reading to your skills, then, Andy. //

It's nothing to do with 'mind reading', and everything to do with common sense.

If you really believe that Mr Trump is imploring the dying of America to vote, so they can vote for Mrs Clinton, then I suggest you don't know very much about how political campaigning actually works.
Bazile, //But , why should 'we' not comment //

I'm not saying you shouldn't comment - comment away. I just find this constantly 'instantly offended' world we now inhabit to be rather childish - and hence, mighty tedious. Personally, I prefer to rise above it.

Do carry on.
I'm not laughing - just clearing my throat ...
andy-hughes, I do hope you're not implying that I am ever among those who are 'instantly offended'.
I think you are missing the difference between offence and anger. Little of what Trump has said offends me -- actually, I think most of it's funny, in a sort of tragically awful way -- but it does make me angry that a man like him can rise almost to the highest office in the world (and very possibly will make it), and that enough people take him seriously, or underestimate how dangerous he could be in that position.

If he were just an angry old man ranting in a pub, I would be only to happy rise above it or try to. He isn't. He's the official Republican Candidate for President of the United States. I don't think you can afford to ignore him whether or not you like him.
Jim, //I think you are missing the difference between offence and anger.//

I'm not. This thread is about him having said something likely to cause offence.
stop whining,l trumpaggedon is coming.
TTT - //stop whining,l trumpaggedon is coming. //

You are SO in for it if Trump looses!!!
//You are SO in for it if Trump looses!!! //

i think we're all in for it, regardless which of them polls the most votes in november, neither has any redeeming features. i'm glad i'm not a us citizen, what a choice...
