Queen Nicola is spouting again...she can kick and scream all she likes another referendum requires Westminster approval and Teresa May made it very clear last week that she is taking the UK through brexit in its entirety...that the UK is staying the UK....do shut up Nicola ..you should concentrate on running Holyrood and not trying to glorify yourself with...
/// Despite that, they are likely to be forced out of it because that's what ENGLAND voted for. ///
No that's what the UK voted for. Anyway so what you are saying is the Scotland do not want independence they just want a different dependance?
ludwig..Scotland DID determine and that answer was NO to separation..Nicola cannot take her ball home because she lost the vote and then want a best of 3...how may times...the more sensible ..and majority of scotland as demonstrated..not heresay..has stated their wants..and Brexit is a UK decicision..we are UK like it or not...getting flipping sick and tired of sheer ignorance on the part of the "braveheart" conitingency..Scotland cannot..CANNOT support itself as an independant nation..I ..personally..worked long hours towards devolution..take it and use it Nicola to benefit this nation..and STOP..trying for self advancement to MY and the nation's detriment !
Well, having just returned from a terrific holiday in the wonderful Borders and having read the newspapers there, I am even more convinced that Ms Sturgeon is punching well above her weight. VOTE FOR MINTY!
We've had a marvellous time. Everyone should have a holiday there - this is my third! Seriously, there was no... definitely no... appetite for another referendum, never mind independence.
Lovely, friendly people; lovely, interesting place.
Because EDDIE doesn't appear to be able to do so can anyone shed any light on EDDIE's claim that there was a clause in the first Scottish referendum that allowed them to vote again if there was a
'substantial and material change ' in the status of the UK'
Here is yet another link that says the SNP made the 'substantial and material change' clause part of the original independence referendum.

I think the idea that Westminster approval is needed come from the bit where it say 'a border referendum is unlikely to be approved by Westminster'. But that refers to the call for a referendum on having a 'hard border' between Eire and Northern Ireland not the Scottish 2nd referendum! But we will see what happens next week when the SNP publish the manifesto for the 2nd referendum!
It was widely reported at the time of the original referendum that a second one would be called if there was a substantial change in the UK's position.
Am I the only one who remembers it?

looks that way.
If it was a clause in the original referendum you should be able to find it. Personally I think you're confused.
