Thanks danny...I can always rely on someone to correct a spelling mistake !
I wouldn't normally bother Mikey but the meanings are so different.

Once again, I am indebted to you............I wouldn't want anybody to misunderstand me after all !
Heaven forbid! Mikey :-)
Mikey, don't be grumpy, every little helps. :)

OK Dougie !

Chuckling quietly here.
'The bank has more than seven million customer accounts.'

There must be other Abers who have felt the effects. They must still be abed. :-)

Tilly....I checked mine last night and it seems that my account isn't of the type that was hacked....its just a simple deposit account, not a current account.

I have never had any trouble with this account in the past and their security systems have been rather tighter than other bank accounts I could mention.
the thing annoying customers is that they haven't been able to get through to Tesco's helpline. This is hardly surprising: few companies staff up for emergencies, and why would they?
Question Author
jno....from what I can gather, their response was pretty poor, as they could have placed a special message on the telephone line, and/or put the same on the website, neither of which they attempted.
Don't drag me into this Douglas.I'm sure Mikey can speak for himself.
I imagine the special message was "We apologise for the delay but we are receiving an unusually high volume of calls at present". Which usually means "We don't want to hire enough staff to do the job properly" but in genuine emergencies like this one is probably true.
not like you to post about Tesco Mikey.
yeah effected that's to do wiv effix innit ?

No or yes - I had a long wrangle with Tesco B when an address of a tenant was being used I thought for fraud

yeah see we cant do ennyfing abart it coz your name isnt on the account holder yeah ?

yeah I did see that my name wasnt the account holder for the address and that was what I was ringing abart ....

yeah its data protection see we cant do ennyfing by law

no it is not data protection - your understanding of data protection is so bad I am not going to argue the point

yeah OK byeeee !

[ I did of course take it further wiv da chief exec of de bank yeah ? ]

which reminds me I must email him and remind him I told him this would happen four or five years ago .....
not like you to post about Tesco M

No fortnum and Mason - Mikey - paid with cheques from Coutts Bank
of course you send your man out to buy comestibles and dont go there yourself.....
Mickey helping Tesco profits? Well i never.
Yes- I've had three texts- two waking me up in the early hours- telling me my account seems to have been among those targeted. The accounts looked okay last night but internet banking was taken down so i can't check.
Anyway- must be an inside job as logging in is a pain in the whatsit normally as after entering all the usual numbers, passwords, and security questions they always text me an 8 digit code which i then have to key in as a final check.
It was on the news just now. Seems they have been 'clever' and taken small amounts out of thousands of accounts, making it harder to detect. Up to 20,000 accounts affected according to the BBC.
