Its seems that American is still badly divided, with the Trump vote being overwhelmingly White, and most Clinton voters being either black, hispanic or Asian :::::

TTT - I think maybe we are talking about different people here.
The media version of 'The Left' - Mr Corbyn and co are one version, and they are indeed pompous idiots of the highest order.
Mt version of The Left is the large swathe of people who believe in a fair and just system of government.
Sadly, the former has ceased to represent the latter for some considerable time.

On a more serious note, rioting and protest on both coasts already. Don't forget these are the people who preach "peace and love" and condemn violence and war. At least when they are not responsible anyway.

I posted this yesterday on Talbot's thread. It belongs here now.

What does "thousands throughout America" mean actually - it's a very large country, and a few small gatherings here and there are to be expected whoever wins.
It's also interesting that all the photographs in the OP link are close-ups and we are not given a clear picture of how large these protest groups are, or of whom they comprise.
I have seen one elsewhere this morning of a neanderthal looking young man holding on high a piece of cardboard on which there was a badly-drawn face of Donald Trump with a swastika on his forehead and a Hitler mustache!
How could anyone take such idiocy seriously and is it worth even reporting?

Wasn't the fact that Clinton did not attract the Black, Hispanic or Asian vote that she expected, the reason why she lost?

> the left hate democracy don't they
There are several flavours of democracy, and lots of people on both left and right hate some flavours, especially when it doesn't got their way!
For example, Merriam-Webster defines democracy in two ways as:
a : government by the people; especially : rule of the majority
b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections
"Rule of the majority" is "democracy" is it? In that case, Clinton beat Trump and Al Gore beat W, but that isn't the flavour of democracy that America chooses to run with. That's fine, but then it's hardly surprising that with such a winner-takes-all system as America has, when the winner of the popular vote is left with nothing her supporters feel that democracy has failed them.

//It is the Right who hate the notion of the plebs having a say in things they are clearly too stupid to understand.//
I thought that was pretty clear, and not all liable to misinterpretation.
It was however manifestly wrong and liable to be challenged. As it was no doubt intended, so as to generate another saga. Meh.

Like Bretix the losers are stamping their feet and throwing their rattles out of the Pram.
That's what happens in a democracy. We get to moan about it.
Although there is obviously not much chance of demonstrations etc having any effect on the result it does make the winner sit up and take notice of the losers concerns.
If no one said anything Trump, like any winner, would carry on regardless.
