I'm not sure what point you are trying to make?

Could you explain what there is to laugh at?
Worth a try.
I know! I know! whatever next.
Do they really think that the Kid's Court is anything but a joke?
What a great idea, who better to send home the message than those directly at risk.
What a great idea
Thanks aog :-)
I think this is a great idea! It not only helps to educate those speeding, but teaches the drivers of tomorrow that speeding can kill.
Sorry, aog, much as I try I don't get the joke.
This was radio 4 Today programme a couple of weeks ago .

All the speeders interviewed stated that they thought it was a good idea

If it were kid's courts, educating other youngsters about the dangers of knife crime, then I would go along with that, but kids educating adults???

No matter how thick or irresponsible they may well be, then it is just a joke.
Bazile..

\\All the speeders interviewed stated that they thought it was a good idea\\

Of course they did as the other alternative was a £100 fine.

I know which one i would have taken.
Some adults need educating. Who does it is irrelevant.
We each see the World through our own eyes, this was about a new lower speed limit outside the school - nothing whatsoever to do with knife crime.

That idea for slightly older children has merit though.

It was also on today's BBC news.

Well they would wouldn't they? It saves them from having points on their licences.
Yes it saved them points and a fine this time, so maybe they'll be more careful in future.

ie, educated.

It would seem that only Sqad has his eye on the ball here.

And how can you possible think that?

If they were to have issued points and a fine in the first instance, then maybe they'll be more careful in future?

ie, educated!!!!!!!!!!

Saying it was a bad idea , would not mean that they could not opt to appear , at the 'kids court ' , would it
But fines and points and fines are impersonal. By meeting potential victims and hearing their thoughts and answering their questions makes the situation so much more real.
I shan't further my point - I can see it as others can too.

AOG - //It would seem that only Sqad has his eye on the ball here. //

That actually tanslates as - 'It would seem that only Squad sees this from the same point of view as I do' - which is not quite the same thing.

If you are a motorist being lectured by a policeman, then it's easy to tune out and not really take in what is being said to you.

If a child looks you in the eye and says something like "If you were speeding past my school gate, and killed me in your car, how would you feel?" - I think that would have a whole different impact, and that is obviously the thinking behind the scheme.
