I left my home to go on a 1 mile journey. My screen wash run out ON ROUTE and unbeknown to me I had driven over a nail causing a very slightly underinflated tyre. As this effected my speed rating I did 32 mph on a built up road (The 10% + 2 is an unwritten Local Police rule) As I checked for my spare tyre I realised they was a very small leak in my boot that caused some corrosion on the tread.
I lost my license when I was stopped.
Oh I forget to mention that my 3yr old (who is disabled) managed to wriggle out of her BS approved seat restraint, a fog light bulb had blown (haven't been tested since MOT) and I threw a cigarette out of the window. Due to the conditions my number plate was marginally obscured and my radio a little too loud. I didn't have my MOT, Insurance or license on me. When I later produced I realised I hadn't updated my license from my last address (1 week ago) and also my insurance was invalid on the same basis (even though I moved to a better area). When I parked outside the cop shop (town centre) my rear tyre was 2 inches on a double yellow line.
As I left the nick (4pm) I saw a friend on a non residential road and honked my horn to say hello. Later I flashed somebody out of a junction who waved in thanks.
When I returned home I had to just place a little of the car on the pavement in no way blocking wheelchairs etc. I was also parked off-side.
Oooooooh I aren't honest ADMITTING these serious offences. Christ people when will you all realise???
It's so easy today to break the speed limit by a few miles per hour without realising it because modern cars are so efficient. Perhaps the answer is for more cars to have Cruise Control fitted which enables you to drive consistently at whatever speed you set it to. My husband's car has this facility and after receiving an unexpected speeding fine he now sets it and uses it all the time.
Just received a notice i was speeding in 30mph limit. In the pic it has another car right next to my car coming towards the camera. It was a mobile camera as i have since gone down the road again and can see no sign of this camera.
My Point is, my car is virtually hidden by the car coming towards me. The only thing visible is my plate, which to be fair is a bit fuzzy and the left tail light on my car. How can i be sure that the oncoming car has not affected the speed camera in anyway? The pic is taking right at the moment the other cars nose hits this camera because all i can see of the other car is the roof and some of the screen. It partually covers my car in the background. Also, the picture itself does not have any speed related information on it so how again can i be sure that the image of my car was infact relating to the speed that i was meant to be travelling? I can not remember speeding, so i am not going to sit here and say i did or did not do it, but ultimately i want to make sure before i pay any fines that it was me without a doubt. Anyone had the same problem?
