Soft Brexit Could Damage Your Health Warn Doctors

What shocks me most is that no language/competence checks can be done to protect "Freedom of movement" yet doctors coming from America and Australia and America have to sit a written exam three hour exam.

Soft Brexit doesn't mean simply retaining certain connections. e.g free trade. It means being confronted by an EU determined to cut off their own nose to spite their face by insisting on the very things that persuaded many to vote leave, as preconditions for retaining tariff free trade, and we being so incredibly foolish and desperate to retain them that our negotiators capitulate at the negotiation table, thus leaving only in name, not in reality, and achieving a worse situation that we started with.
The ball is in the EU court. Either they have the ability to see dropping unconnected preconditions still allows a mutually advantageous trade agreement or they force a split without such an agreement. Soft Brexit is no Brexit, and not on the negotiation table.

My sentiments exactly OG. We should offer ZERO/ZERO Tariffs which would benefit EU countries more than us and take advantage of our free trade possibilities as soon as possibles. We should also be prepared to walk away from the table if necessary.
Going back to Doctors, it's our standards we need to implement, not other countries.

// I'm wondering whether they just have to take the ones they are told to take or//
Sorry PP, my attempt at sarcasm fell flat there in my attempt to show that Linda had clearly misunderstood/been misled by someone since it cannot possibly be the case that the NHS is powerless as to which doctors are appointed

FF I don't tank I have misunderstood about screening doctors. EU Medics can work here without any necessary checks on their competence and, most important, language skills yet ones from other parts of thr world have to jump through hoops, apply for visas do written test and practical test before being allowed to practice in our hospitals. I have had experience of Carers employed by an Eastern European Agency who only employ Eastern Europeans, untrained who can't speak English looking after my Mother. Communication is an essential part of medical care. All we want is a level playing field and the ability to check qualifications etc.
Anyone on this forum can find link after link to support their own, often political, views but I have seen it happening.
