I'm confused as to why it should be suggested that the course be replaced by a new all-weather course at Newmarket, given that there's already a new all-weather course only 50 miles away from there:

The Jockey Club want to sell off the racecourse to make money, even though it is supposed to be Green Belt land

I won't be sad to see it go. I hate horse racing.

I don1`t like horse racing either but the sale of kempton has an awful lot of implications for the local community

For that reason I'd like it to stay.

I was just thinking of the racing and not the wider consequences.

(my dad was a gambling addict and horses were his thing so it's given me a hatred of the sport)

I remember when they sold off the London Irish at Sunbury. The powers that be always try to make money without considering the local community.
