/// But if Bocelli has backed out, then so be it...perhaps somebody should ask him why he agreed to perform in the first place ? While he at it, perhaps he can explain why he is a friend of Trump ? ///
That seems like something one would expect to read about the Nazi regime of the 30s and 40s.
When one dare not make friends with anyone who did not toe the Nazi Party line.

A couple of points.
1. The protests are letting Trump know that are vowing to defend civil liberties, gains and rights that have been hard fought for. If Trump had selected cabinet members who are broadly in favour of adhering to those rights, then there would be no need for these protests. If you think back to the elections of Bush, Clinton, Reagan and Obama - there wasn't this level of fear amongst the electorate. Possibly because all those Presidents won the popular vote, whereas Trump didn't. He won on the electoral college vote.
2. Obviously, you don't have to give details about your role in the UK Civil Rights movement, but out of curiosity - can you broadly explain your to fight for the right to sit where you wanted to on a bus, drink from a water fountain, and rent a house. I understand that life may have been difficult in the past of white British men, but I had no idea it was that difficult.

It does seem that anyone who considers performing at the inauguration of Trump the bully ... gets bullied until they decide they won't be doing it.
It doesn't seem like that at all. So far, there's this case. However, what has become apparent is that celebs are avoiding being any part of it without being bullied.
So far, he has the New York Rockets, a girl who won American Idol and someone else who's name escapes me.
It's not bullying. It's simply because stars don't want to be associated with him.
His best bet is to look to Country music stars.
...and Mel Gibson.

Drinking from a water fountain is trivial but to be forbidden from doing so merely because of your skin is not. ANOTHEOLDGIT claimed he had to fight for the right to drink from one and he has been asked to provide details of that along with having to fight for the right to sit in a particular seat in bus and having to fight for the right to rent a house.
Having to do any one of those three things is out of the ordinary for most folk but he has done all three. Do you not agree it would be interesting to know more about this terrible state of affairs?

Why shouldn't he?
Even black soul singer Jennifer Holliday has been threatened and branded ‘Uncle Tom’ for accepting Trump’s invitation to perform.
Just goes to show what type of people you are supporting Mikey.
