The term sp is looking for was queer-bashing. There was also queer-rolling, which involved luring a victim to a secluded spot and then robbing him, knowing that he was very unlikely to complain to the police. Such a crime resulted in the execution of the last teenager to be hanged in Britain, Anthony Miller, 1960.

I find it a bit odd, too. Agreeing with Naomi here. I wouldn't have phone sex, FaceTime sex, Skype sex, or whatever they do, with my OH, let alone a stranger or even acquaintance.

Cloverjo, I think the general rule is if you don't comment on your offspring's sex lives, they won't comment on yours. He's 22 and old enough to vote.

I know TD is an adult.
So is my son, and I'd be embarrassed (for him) if stuff like that was all over the media. My son is not famous, so whatever he does is not going to be shared on the internet. I still feel for Tom's mum.

I really like Tom Daley and I wish he hadn't done it, it's a sleazy thing to do. But it's nothing to do with me really, or anybody else.

I don't know if you need to be embarrassed for someone else if they're not embarrassed for themselves? Being embarrassed on your own account is something else, but I don't tend to feel embarrassment-by-association and I don't really expect others to do so.
