hc, you'll only find out the answer if you feel the frying pan round the back of your head.
the prejudice that limited the lives of gays wasn't their own but that of lawmakers, unfortunately.
Mamya, I could never hit my wife over the back of the head with a frying pan :D
Very forgiving of you.:-)

Indeed - I remember a time when members of the heterosexual community used to beat up gay people.

There was a term for that too if I recall corrected.

Chap I knew lost an eye after being set upon by a group of lads who followed him after leaving a club.

Like you, I'm glad we've moved past times like that.
I think anyone who engages in on-line sex, web cam sex, phone sex, or any other kind of ‘distance’ sex, is creepy.
^ Actually, thinking about it, I agree with that and I'm quite surprised squeaky clean Tom Daley did what he did ...

The video was outed he could barely deny it, so chose to express his regret about it instead.
Submitted early...

Whether he should have refused to comment is a different debate.

So does Sqad, he's always telling me.
The term sp is looking for was queer-bashing. There was also queer-rolling, which involved luring a victim to a secluded spot and then robbing him, knowing that he was very unlikely to complain to the police. Such a crime resulted in the execution of the last teenager to be hanged in Britain, Anthony Miller, 1960.

I too would be glad if we had, SP. Unfortunately those times may (in some cases are) be coming back.
I find it a bit odd, too. Agreeing with Naomi here. I wouldn't have phone sex, FaceTime sex, Skype sex, or whatever they do, with my OH, let alone a stranger or even acquaintance.

TD is a well known person. What was he thinking?

I wonder what his mum thinks of it. I'd be mortified.
Cloverjo, I think the general rule is if you don't comment on your offspring's sex lives, they won't comment on yours. He's 22 and old enough to vote.

I know TD is an adult.
So is my son, and I'd be embarrassed (for him) if stuff like that was all over the media. My son is not famous, so whatever he does is not going to be shared on the internet. I still feel for Tom's mum.
I really like Tom Daley and I wish he hadn't done it, it's a sleazy thing to do. But it's nothing to do with me really, or anybody else.
I don't know if you need to be embarrassed for someone else if they're not embarrassed for themselves? Being embarrassed on your own account is something else, but I don't tend to feel embarrassment-by-association and I don't really expect others to do so.
