Mr Linekar and Ms. Allen are entitled to register their views as free adults - and their relatively high profiles makes them doing so picture fodder for the tabloids, which I am sure they accept.

What it does not do is sign them up as political agitators who have to appear to protest at every single wrong in the world - I am sure they have far better things to do.
