For quite some years we have had to endure some labour supporting ABers taunting Conservative ABers on the Tories being torn apart due to the EU. Repeatedly they were told the issue was cross party but it was ignored, usually more scoffing ensued particualrly from one prolific labour supporter.

Well, apart from Red Ken it appears the Tories haave united, albeit between gritted teeth. The same cannot be said about labour.

I actually feel a bit sorry for Corbyn, I strongly suspect some of his MP's still dont accept he was elected - twice - just they dont like any other democratic vote if the result is 'wrong'

So will Labour survive? Personally I hope so as now is the time a strong and viaable opposition is require.

Not sure why you seem to think this worthy of a question / comment. It was clear before the vote which party had the most dissenters. You're right about an opposition tho but its a mountain that labour have to climb.

It always was just spin. Despite his euphoric rhetoric every time he thought he spotted a chink in the armour, I remember assuring Mikey a long time ago that the Conservatives would unite.

With many of them so intellectually trapped in the impossibly idealistic Socialist notions of sixty years ago and beyond, Labour has nothing tangible to offer to the modern world and nothing tangible to unite behind. The Labour Party can’t see it – but the public can.

Of course the Tory MPs have "united" - they wouldn't jeopardise their political future to preserve their individual integrity.

It isn't so much the Labour Party that is divided over Europe as Labour voters. As canary says, the Tories have no real reason for open dissent over this - but there IS dissent, or at least disagreement, and perfectly honourable and respectably so : when the nitty gritty comes to be debated then things may get a little more compliated than simply "it's the will of the people" which is a mantra that can only be trotted out for so long.
I suspect Labour will survive, once over the aberration that is Corbyn, However I would not rule out a political realignment: free traders versus the rest. Who knows

the Tories have generally been united over Europe when in power, and disunited when in opposition; the same with Labour. I don't think that's anything much to do with Europe itself, more to do with teams that stick together when they're winning and at each other's throats when they're losing.
