An extraordinary social media flutter (aside from all the stuff about Mr Snell) is the twittering of UKIP bigwig John Bickley, who posted a slogan "If you want a jihadi for a neighbour then vote Labour" - then apologised and deleted it because, wait for it, he hadn't realised it echoed a 50-year old slogan from the days of Wilson and Douglas-Home: "If you want a (anagram of GINGER) for a neighbour then vote Labour". Oh the disappointment at realising that not only are you not the poet you thought you were, but that there is nothing original under The Sun ....
The actual slogan was, " If you want a N***** for a neighbour, vote LIBERAL or LABOUR. I was around at the time. It cost a shadow cabinet minister a safe seat.
