Terrible story, but I don't think it has anything to do with his being an ex boxer. They just wanted to steal a car. Frightening that they would go to the length of spraying the owner with ammonia just to get his car! Modern car security is so good it is virtually impossible to steal a car unless you can get hold of the keys. I have heard of houses being burgled just to steal car keys but this is a new 'low' to me.
