You can wear a knife if you stick to the law, as for your 5 inch problem I would pop along to the doctor and see if they can help!
Even your link says ceremonial purposes, not a licence to carry.
But even so, you've been telling us the law is the law, no exceptions, especially for religious bigots.
Oh, this guys brown is he, that's alright then.
Talbot - that's easy. Become a Sikh
Sikh men don't have to wear a helmet on motorbikes either.

I can't do that hc, I hate all the hypocracy surrounding religion.

Never met nowt but nice Sikhs though, always get a god conversation when your taxi driver is a Sikh. I also actually showered with one for many years (I can't remember if he had a 5 incher though)
Question Author
hypocracy?

Hypocrisy
Question Author
lol always get a good conversation ;0)
Samjenko my link says the following

##if it’ll be used for theatre, film, television, historical reenactment or religious purposes, for example the kirpan some Sikhs carry
Exactly. Religious purposes, not for sharpening your pencils or stabbing your colleagues in work.
Can't believe the racist bigots on this thread.
Question Author
Basically the law discriminates against me on religious grounds ... is that correct?
Oh Samjenko you are so funny
Talbot, become a fisherman, carpenter, jobbing chef, tree surgeon, gardener, mobile pig roast cook, or any other hobby, trade or profession that allows you carry knives in public
That won't cut it, Hc. I've seen loads of blokes on 'Police Camera Action' trying that old malarky. They always get 'done'.
I've worked with quite a few Sikhs and there was never any problem, because they all wore small , decorative, kirpans in their turbans. They were about and inch-and-a-half long, no problem, they told me. So why is there now a demand to be allowed to carry large versions everyday? Ceremonial and special occasions are obviously different. There never was any problem with the Sikh population anywhere I lived, but it seems inequitable.
Question Author
fishermen, carpenters, jobbing chefs, tree surgeons, gardeners, mobile pig roast cooks, are allowed to carry their knives down the high street on their way to the Dog & Duck?

Well I never!
That's because they were lying, Sam. If they were genuinely fishermen, mobile chefs etc there would have been no problem.

The kirpan is meant to be worn around the waist. The Sikhs I know couldn't use their kirpans to open an envelope, they are too small and blunt.
Yes, they are, Talbot, if they are going to cut down the trees or carve the hog roast once they get there.
Question Author
I don't believe you hc.
Question Author
There's not many trees in the Dog & Duck.
well I'm a jedi knight so obviously my religion demands I carry a light Sabre. You lot are so undiverse on here!
