News Outlets Banned
From Whitehouse news conference BBC, CNN, New York Times and LA Times. Is this the correct way for the white house to behave?

You must admit as well Naomi that Trump does not help himself in this regard: I'd go back to the Alex Ferguson Matt Busby story where the latter advised the former to ignore the press: just get on and govern in a less confrontatio nal way. If you think the 'fake news' is going to stop because you start banning people then you are probably deluded.

Good news Eddie bit do these bodies carry any clout? I don't know. I was hoping the administration would settle down : for a start Steve Bannon needs to be shown the door on no uncertain terms. I'm sure a lot of the nonsense is coming from him. It doesn't seem all that likely. It's s bit like having Paul Dacre or the Express editor as the govts chief adviser here.
Or even the editor of the Sunday Sport in its heyday ...

Apologies, I put this thread up and then felt very ill so took myself off to bed. I haven't seen any news this morning so from the links are you saying they are not banned or just having a separate press conference - I am confused! Because at the moment it looks like Trump is choosing news outlets that may be more favourable to him to attend.
Eddie...is it really so astonishing though ?
Most of us could have predicted what is happening a long time ago. It was obvious that he had none of the qualities needed for high office when he was out campaigning last year.
My personal theory is that he now a trifle unhinged, and as soon as that is recognised, the better.
I notice that Trumps many friends here on AB must still be asleep, or else just to ashamed to come out and give him some support !

The great idea mikey was that you take Trump seriously but not literally, as his supporters who 'know best' do. Sounded plausible, but seems now to be wrong!
What amazes me is the defence of Trump's actions on the grounds that he promised it all along - surely the criterion is: are the policies sensible? They seemed daft at the time and they seem equally daft now
