he has to run a country for chrissakes and he hasnt even been a minister !
interesting gloss/variant for Nicola Sturgeon who cannot resist bucking her day job for more interesting activities
but lying / misleading exit pollsters is now an international activity
first done with Thatcher where people who had voted for Mrs T didnt want to say so in public

I'm unsure what the fuss is about. The leading party lost seats, presumably because the population isn't happy about what they're doing, but still want to keep them in; the one everyone thought was going to do well has gained seats even though their hope to be the major party didn't emerge; and with some of their more intolerant aims to do well at all speaks volumes about present public opinion. Now the parties now need to sort out one of those awkward coalitions.
If you look at the number of seats gained in recent elections by the Freedom Party, it's actually fluctuated quite a lot. So this is not a party "on the rise" out of nowhere, but one that comes and goes: a mercifully small ripple in the sea of Dutch politics. In the end they polled half of what most polls had predicted, even the unfavourable one. Their wave rose, but not as much as feared. What's happened still shows a trend to favour non-mainstream parties, but thankfully not the racist outfit of Mr Wilders.
Why do you have to keep calling him a racist Mickey?
Just because someone feels their country is under threat and want to look after the indigenous population (after all liberals wont) is not a racist. Over use of a word can mean that it no longer has impact when it is really needed.
Apparently it could be months before a Government is formed, perhaps we should be glad of our FPTP system even with its faults?
