//The Glasgow muslim who was butchered ( literallly ) by the crazed Brummie asian was an ahmaddiya //

You'll have the Birmingham Muslims after you.
hereIam - //It pees me off that just because some people want to stick up for their own country they are automatically called 'right wing extremists'! Personally, I applaud them ... //

First of all, it's not 'their' country. Being the largest indigenous population doesn't give you title deeds and the right to say who worships in their own faith and who doesn't.

And secondly - this is not 'sticking up for their own country' - it is deliverate intimidation against Muslims who wish to build a mosque.

To be clear - if you object to something, then you have a perfect right to make a protest about it, but there are right ways to make your view apparent, and there are wrong ways.

Gues which one sticking giant crosses up is ...
Well, to me the Ahmaddiya muslims are the sort that we can live with. They don't want us to change our Western culture and can happily manage their own religious lives alongside ours. No problem.
I can understand why residents may be alarmed by the construction of a mosque - but in this case it is non-divisive - but they have gone a bit far.
They are described as 'right wing', because liberals, moderates and those on the hard left don't generally object to the building of mosques.

They are described as extremists because the average person would be more likely to register their objection to the construction by lobbying their local council to reject the planning proposal.

Or they might sign a petition.

It is an extreme reaction to go to their local builders' merchants, purchase enough two-by-four to form fifteen giant crosses, transport to a place to put them together, transport the crosses to the site, and then erect the crosses, using a system of levers and pullies.

That's why they have been called 'right wing extremists'.

Because they have done something that right wing extremists do.
andy-hughes, //it's not 'their' country. Being the largest indigenous population doesn't give you title deeds and the right to say who worships in their own faith and who doesn't.//

It is their country …. but funny how ‘being the largest indigenous population’ gives those living in many Muslim countries the right to say who worships in their own faith and who doesn’t.

Which countries are those?
Thanks Samjemko - an excellent reason why we should not start down the road of religious persecution.
Samjenko, thanks. You saved me the trouble of demonstrating what I thought most people were already aware of.
Why is not wanting a mosque is persecution?

You can pray anywhere.
sp, 'religious persecution'? Read samjenko's link. There you will find religious persecution. Nothing like over-dramatizing a situation for effect!
Don't forget to re-read your post Talbot when you change the wording :0/
you can't have too many is's, isn't it talbot.
I think it's a form of religious persecution.

You start with blocking religious buildings, you go on to pigs heads left outside mosques and end up with...well, who knows?

But this is a digression - the question was about why the Daily Mail had labelled the protesters 'right wing extremists'. I believe that's what AOG wanted to know.
-- answer removed --
Do you think the actions taken by the objectors are normal?
Maybe AOG needs to stop reading the DM if he doesn't like their headlines?
not an AB apologist, it's just you know from the heading and article, that they are indeed right wing people.

I wonder how many of these Islamic apologists, would care to see a Mosque built on their 'door steps'?

Are all those who protest against travellers camps, also Right-Wing Extremists?

Where the French being Right-Wing Extremists when they removed the Calais camps?
ANOTHEOLDGIT, if you had objections to a building would you support the raising of huge crosses in protest or would you perhaps have sent a few letters to the local planning department?
