I thought if it was a room in your house the rules were different, I mean if you are a staunch catholic your hardly going to want to share your house with a Jew now are you!
Question Author
its a minefield, gumtree clearly gives loads of Muslim only, Christian only rooms for rent, which as i said seemed strange in the light of current law, of which i know very little. Perhaps
NJ can throw his two pennyworth in.
Question Author
i don't see why not, considering how people are people as you keep on about, catholic, jew, mix them up in one big melting pot, how else can people learn from each other if they don't remotely assimilate.
Oh, come on! If you are a strict Moslem you are hardly likely to share your home with someone who has bacon butties for breakfast.
Question Author
perhaps not, however it would seem that many of these ads are against the law. Going on aog thread about who you can sell your goods to, which will likely see the man prosecuted.
I once worked in a firm that I had to abide by their strict religious by laws whilst I was on work premises, I know several people that turned down working there because they would not abide by them.
emmie, if its a room for rent in a home then the owner occupier small premises exceptions apply and its not illegal to set such exceptions or to advertise them....take a look at the link I posted.
Thank you woofgang as I suggested then!!!
yup

you really are a piece of work i must say, banging on about how people are people no matter what, yet when i post a legitimate question i get nothing but snide remarks.
Question Author

' Hasn't this been answered before for you when you mentioned this on another thread. Are you trying to prove a point? '

no its a legit question, and i don't have an agenda.
Question Author
so it would seem you can or cannot rent out your room, house to whomsoever you please, just like the dippy bloke trying to sell his car. I think i got all the links which i will read again, interesting points by the way.
That was not snide it was fact you had asked it on another question and it had been answered hence I was wondering if you were trying to prove a point! Sorry if you are that sensitive!

Almost like reading something in Nazi Germany, only replace Commission with Gestapo.
Changing the clocks has a lot to answer for, it's sent folk loopy.
