Question Author
that should say also race and religion before someone jumps down my neck.
What about females only.
Ummmm....wouldn't have thought so, as females are not a separate race.

Although they do say that women come from Venus, etc, etc !
Question Author
don't know, but i found rafts of Muslim only rent shares, and Christian ones too, i didn't think it was allowed.
only female shares no idea.
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1544725-5.html New Judge answered your question here.
From the Equality and Human Rights Commission FAQS, "3.2 Race or nationality

Q. Can a landlord or letting agent advertise accommodation restricted to a tenant of a particular nationality?
A. No, it is always unlawful to restrict accommodation because of race or ethnicity.

3.3 Religion or belief

Q. Can a Catholic person advertise for another Catholic to flatshare?
A. Yes, this would be permissible if the flat qualifies as a ‘small premises’ under the Act and there will be shared facilities, such as the kitchen and bathroom."

Hasn't this been answered before for you when you mentioned this on another thread. Are you trying to prove a point?
Question Author
so some can and some can't, that's too complicated.
It was Islay. As per my link.
You get lots of Kosher only rents as Kosher rules are so complicated that frankly it would usually be too awkward to share with someone non observant. I don't feel in that instance or instances of other religious separatism to do with observant food preparation that it's a problem.
Question Author
not trying anything but ascertain what you can and cannot do.
Contact the Commission if you have seen dubious ads.
Corby is right.......report them Emmie !
As has been pointed out elsewhere, you are free to discriminate provided you do not advertise the fact.
all here including gender discrimination and definition of small premises plus the owner occupier exceptions

Question Author
what commission, i was asking for how the law stands, not going to dob people in for the sake of it. There are hundreds of lists for Muslim only, Christian only, Asian only, sites, i thought it rather strange.
Question Author
loads on here, just as there are for other denominations like Christians.

you can certainly rent to anyone you like - you can hardly rent a room to people of 16 different religions. But you can't advertise it as being only for a certain class of people.
Question Author
so these sites, advertisers are wrong, Christian, Muslim others.
