Quite a catchy wee number they are chanting
I wonder if the irony is lost on them, they are shouting 'we want freedom' yet are denying others the freedom to travel to their destinations.
Tough isn't it ☺☺☺
Hope they all get arrested and forced to pay compensation to cover the losses sustained by airlines/airport authority and passengers.
It is their democratic right to protest
Protest - yes - but not by closing a runway, that's completely selfish.

/// It is their democratic right to protest ///

It is not their democratic right to invade an airport, think of the security implications.
If you were taking security implications into consideration perhaps you should stop all visitors to the airport!
There's a question. How the hell did they get on the runway to start with?

/// A statement from the activists said eight protesters from End Deportations, Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants and Plane Stupid had surrounded the

Should that have read 'Plain Stupid'?

///A statement from the activists said eight protesters from End Deportations, Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants and Plane Stupid had surrounded the plane///

Only 8 of them, surely they could easily have been bundled on to the Plane and deported along with the official deportees.
stupid senseless and will do nothing to garner public support...quite apart from being dangerous ...
Normal visitors to an airport don't usually surround an aircraft and lay down on the runway.

All visitors to airports are allowed to go on the runways and wander around the planes or even chain themselves to them, are they?
I've never been to Stansted so don't know the set up but I still can't understand how they got on the runway. Would they have had to climb a fence?

Nasty gits pissing other people off is normal. It's their democratic right.
A right which will be defended by other like-minded nasty gits.
allen, who, on this thread have said these people haven't the right to protest?
i too wonder how they got on the runway, yes protesting is one thing but to pee off a good many people whilst doing so is just not on.
It's not just peeing people off. It's the time and money wasted for so many.

It seems to be OK will a couple of folks.
