pastafreak, , //I figured it might strike a chord with a few on here...;-)//
Actually it doesn’t. Unlike the Koran, the bible is open to interpretation and may be criticized freely. There can be no comparison. sp1814 take note.
Allen, I do not quote the DailyMail. Learn something about Islam and then come back to discuss it with those who have taken the trouble to do that.

Generally it is believed by many, if not all Muslims (and in particular by non-Muslims) that there is one authentic interpretation of the Koran.
That is simply untrue.
Even the closest companions of the Prophet (PBUH) differed from each other in understanding various verses.
Also, since there is no concept of official church in Islam no one interpretation can command following of a majority of Muslims, let alone all Muslims.
There is hardly any major issue on which Muslim 'ulama do not differ.
These differences, more often than not are due to different interpretations of the Qur'anic text.
I know you have been accused before off being an expert on all things Islamic, and you have denied that you have ever stated that.
I believe you completely.
This website explains why the Koran is open to interpretation. Basically, it's written in Arabic, and cannot be translated into other languages because if it is, it's not the Koran any more.
That means that 90% of the world's Muslims (who do not speak Arabic) have to rely on local spoken translations and interpretation.
It's totally, totally, totally up for interpretation.

Zacs-Master, //Ah, nicely dodged again. Night. X //
Not at all. You should know by now that dodging questions isn't in my remit. Almost 12 midnight is time for bed - at least for me - that's all. Anyway, back to your question. "How do you solve that?"
You can't. We could, however, work towards solving it to a degree, in the west at least, by acknowledging that Islamic culture is at odds with western culture; by dissolving all faith schools; by removing the Imams from prisons; by monitoring mosques, and by banning face coverings in public, but while we continue to make concessions to Islam by 'respecting' its 'right' to promulgate its philosophy and to actively foster adherence to these beliefs we only encourage it. People who come out in defence of that are, in effect, quite unwittingly, supporting the very worst of Islam. Quite recently I have asked some of them on here 'What are you actually supporting?' - to no avail.
Allen, //I don't think there's any reasoning with her.//
Try. I'm always willing to listen. What are you actually supporting?

Well, I'm glad you've realised that combatting Islam is at best extremely difficult and at worst, impossible Naomi.
I've seen you make comments along the lines of 'something must be done / lets go to war with them, following atrocities, to which I've repeatedly asked you to clarify what you would like to be done. So it's very refreshing.

Shame the search facility on here doesn't work better.
