What Would Have Happened If He Had Been A Muslim?
http:// www.dai lymail. co.uk/n ews/art icle-44 46052/R E-teach er-figh t-decis ion-thr ow-cour se.html
Would he have still been thrown out if he had been a muslim and said gay marriage was against his religion ? I somehow think not.

They are quite happy to name-check verses which describe homosexuality as an abomination, but somehow miss out on the bits where it defines how many times you can beat your wife, and the size of stick, you can do it with.
And let's not forget the Bible teachings on slavery...
You may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
Murder Rape and Pillage
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.
(Deuteronomy 20:10-14)

I don't see why Islam has been bought into this it is about Christianity!
The Bible is very clear that Homosexuality is a sin. Yet a Christian Religious Education teacher is penalised for believing what is in the Bible?
It is like a Policeman being penalised for saying he believes criminals should be prosecuted!
I hope he wins the case, whatever your views a religious education teacher should not be penalised for believing what his religion tells him!

My reason for posting all these Bible quotes is because Christians time and again say that the Bible tells them homosexuality is a sin, and this is the rules they live by.
Fine.
But why pick on the gays when their book of rules has a ton of scriptures they happily ignore.
Buffet Christianity.
If it dove-tails with what's been drilled into me, great.
If not, I'll just ignore it.

Just to bring a little clarity into this, the bible teaches that disobedient children, adulterers, and those who indulge in same sex relationships should be killed. However, the fact is that whilst believers still consider all those things to be wrong, they don’t actually kill any of those people these days, so despite SP’s claims, they aren’t actually being selective.
This is far more about the freedom of speech than about gay marriage.
The guy was discussing gay marriage and pointed out that The Bible says it was sinful.
We could take as an a example from a famous quote from Voltaire here.
'' I disagree completely with what you are saying, but will defend to the death your right to say it''

You're 100% correct. I was getting mixed up with the way that we are instructed to treat our slaves.
Women have their hands cut off (for some weird reason that I can't work out):
“When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.” (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)
And they should be killed for being raped (again - not sure why):
If there is a young woman, a virgin already engaged to be married, and a man meets her in the town and lies with her, you shall...stone them to death, the young woman because she did not cry for help...and the man because he violated his neighbor's wife." [If the woman is not engaged] "the man who lay with her shall give 50 shekels of silver to the young woman's father, and she shall become his wife." Ephesians 5:22-23
