Trump IS an idiot. Yet he's growing on me :-)
There's an honesty there even if he seems to sing the praises of every person or country he's last met or visited.
There was a fascinating bit on the BBC last night to mark the 100 days, largely from the Ohio rust belt, which if anything else should have given critics of the BBC who think it's 'anti-Trump' pause for thought. They didn't interview a single person who didn't have at least something positive to say about him

They may not have made the headlines here but they have in the US. It was pointed out that the coal barges are running on the Ohio after the relaxation of some environmental laws. Some of this stuff is popular with some.

I am astounded that anyone would even consider for a moment shooting a bear hibernating with her cubs. Heartbreaking. Some Americans don't seem to mind what they shoot with their guns. Alaska should be ashamed and I hope the conservationists get it overturned.

As far as I know native subsistence hunters have always been allowed to kill animals (bears wolves) in their dens.

I think you should either be interesting in voicing opinions about this sort of thing no matter who is in power or shut up.

Talbot a while back, for two seasons, I was watching a link to wild (tagged) bears being studied in Minnesota. In fact I think I posted it on here. My heart was in my mouth at the end of the closed season as the hunters were asked not to target the tagged bears but 'accidents' happened. The wonderful Scottish wildlife filmmaker Gordon Buchanan made a film following the lives of the bears, shown on TV here. Broke my heart when a hunter killed Lily, one of the study bears. Those who campaigned to bring this abomination back should be ashamed, whichever political party they support.
