The Tories Are Coming! What It Means.......
58 Answers
....is that people are going to vote for cuts and austerity. If they get a large majority at the GE in June I wouldn't be surprised to see them privatize a lot of the NHS and put a compulsory charge on education. You see, people in this country are loaded aren't they? Most people own a car, take foreign holidays; own a mobile phone and a computer; own a flat screen tv and Playstation or equivalent; give to charity in record amounts. Everyone's got pots of cash and can afford the pending rise in new taxes and local govt cuts. You've never had it so good, have you? The Tories want a lot of that off you. It's coming!

I'd be willing to pay more tax to fix schools and healthcare (the key problem as I see it in the NHS is structural debt due to PFI - this can only be solved with investment).
I'd even be willing to accept an incompetent government over a corrupt one that is taking a kamikaze approach to Brexit. But I seem to be in a minority, so I guess there's not much I can do about it :).

depends what you mean by "privatization". healthcare may still be universally free at point of use, but there's a lot that's already provided by private companies:-

10ClarionSt, Nonsense! You, like other Labour supporters, are living in the past and still suffering under the antiquated delusion that all Tories are rolling in money. They are not. They do, however, take responsibility for themselves and understand that nothing comes for nothing. There you are telling us about foreign holidays, flat screen TVs, cars, and all the other trappings of the comfortable lifestyle that you enjoy, and yet you want free health care, free schooling, and whatever else you can get for free. Well nothing comes for nothing – absolutely nothing. Someone has to pay. You’ll vote Labour with all its borrowing and all its potty, unachievable promises to fleece big business to fund everything you don’t want to pay for, sending the country’s real money-makers scurrying and taking the jobs they create with them, and eventually your hapless heroes will render the country bankrupt – and still you won’t have the easy ride you desire. Very smart! Pay for what you want and stop whinging. What a bunch of lame ducks you people are!

I would rather see the NHS be privatised from top to toe, rather than carry on being the private fiefdom of the left wing ne'er do wells. Managers and admin staff who would not get a position in an enterprise that is meant to deliver, and are there in the main because they are appointed by like minded individuals with similar skill levels. It has become the refuge of a political party in it's death throes, and is used as a bunker to hide behind patients being used as a shield, whilst they snipe and gripe with impunity.
