OMG..serves her right
So she should be!
Good.
Well he jailed her but not for nearly enough.

//"This was a calculated attempt to run him over and use your car as a weapon," the judge said. // So attempted murder then. Just 3 years ?

I see she got herself up the gut in an attempt to avoid jail. At least he saw through that.

Does the driving ban commence at end of the three year jail sentence or does it run concurent?
Question Author
ymb...I had to google " up the gut" !
She should have been jailed for longer. She will probably be out in about 18 months. She intentionally caused serious injuries to the cyclist.
Question Author
Flonxie...I am guessing that it begin at the trial end....ie straight away.
There is something to be said for making all driving bans run after any custodial sentence.

I have always thought to have it run concurrently is no deterrent.

She should have got longer.
Little point in a driving ban being in operation when she's in prison. The ban should commence from the time she leaves prison.
I thought it did.
Oh does it, ummmm? I didn't know that.
She should have got a lot longer - she could have killed him!
I'm almost sure. My mate got locked up for DD and I'm sure his ban kicked in when he got out.
It was proposed that a driving ban should start after release but I don't know if it was ever acted upon.
why is that not attempted murder?
the judge will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is a mechanism for deferring a driving ban. I hope there is mind.
I can't see any obvious reason why she should ever be allowed behind a wheel again.
That seems sensible Talbot.
