Jim, //That's from the same school of rhetoric as "Brexit means Brexit"... // Not quite sure how you work that out, but the mentality of the naïve – or those on the lookout for a freebie - never ceases to amaze me, so I’m pretty philosophical about the outcome of elections. I listened to Jeremy Corbyn today telling us that a Labour government will change the...

Yes.
I have a house with a filthy great garden, I;m nto on the poverty line chances are my Tax will go up,and I'll end up personally financially worse off, but so what? I would rather that than see lines of miserable demoralised people using foodbanks. Rather that than have people committing suicide because they have been deemed fit to work when they clearly aren't. Rather that than have kids eat something that cost 7p when the decision makers claim £39-00 for their meal. Labour destroy the country? I'd like to see them try, there's nothing left to destroy, but everything left to rebuild.

Jim360: You say 'the Tories have already destroyed the country'. Then you accuse someone else of using 'alarmist rhetoric'. Despair.
I'd like to think that the art of deliberate hyperbole is still alive and kicking. It should have been obvious to everyone that I was being at least somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

Or not.
How long do we reasonably give someone before we say, 'actually, you are not up to the job'?

This question was particularly applied to President Trump and I think people are beginning to question Mrs May more and more.

The Tories managed to defy the polls in winning the GE in 2015 under David Cameron and look how things unravelled. Not the greatest PM, who spat his dummy out over Brexit.

He made a bad call, is history about to repeat itself?

Corbyn is like a racehorse staying on, doing his best work at the end, but likely to have needed a longer trip...

Well his ... Quest for Fame ... isn't going too bad for him at the moment.
Final SP:-

Theresa May - held up, took the wrong course!

Jeremy Corbyn - pulled up!

Tim Farron fitted with blinkers.

Non runners: Nigel Farage.

Surely Nutall would be gelded?
Well he appeared to be walking funny in the party political broadcast!

Theresa May is sweating up in the paddock. Never a good sign.
In the meantime the EC prediction for Tory majority just shrank by another ten seats... :)
kvalidir, // chances are my Tax will go up//

If you have a ‘filthy great garden’, you can bet your boots your taxes will go up…. but then as divebuddy says, ‘Meanwhile in the real world…
Meanwhile in the 'real world' some of us actually think about other people and not just ourselves- that's what a civilised society is supposed to do since you don't seem to realise that. Hope that helps :/

Should I post another John McDonnell video for you to ignore?

Well spotted DB.
//That's probably a No, as well. //

So if you don't signal your charitable works they don't count?

There are planning laws in turning your garden into a camp-site.
