is this person really home secretary material with such a slim grasp of her specialist subject? or is it just racist to even suggest otherwise?

But in reality, Labour were never going to win this Election, such a short period after the last one. If the Election was in 2020, as planned, than I agree Labours chances would have been much greater.
At least we agree on what a balls up Mrs May has been making these last 2 weeks. But if she has gone to all this trouble, to be back where she was prior to calling the Election, she won't have achieved very much
Now I must away too work !

Why would I have a link to her doctors notes? I have a pair of eyes and I have watched the interviews. Her whole demeanour exudes an arrogance and contempt for those around her I have not seen in a politician for quite a while. She is highly paid, sent her kids to a private school and one of the champaign swilling do as I say not as I do socialists.
And now of course I am a racist for saying so.
Just out of curiosity do you have a link to her being unwell?

Not necessarily, Ummmm...I know from bitter experience that someone in an important job can be in the early stages of a slow progressing brain disorder and cause shocking damage before the illness is diagnosed.....
Having said that.....ill or well, she really is the most useless politician.....she is completely lost......you can see in her eyes in that interview that she doesn't know what DM is asking......
She looks, as my mother would say, gormless....and this country needs a lot better than that now....
Zacs @ 7.34 is spot on and isn't that a great shame..... these are folk we should have faith and trust in ........
And no, Mushroom....of course not racist.....but I think you're wrong about....slim grasp....she let go long, long ago..... :-(

Somebody in Labour has obviously come to their senses and realised she's liability when there's a microphone anywhere near her and has decided to shut the woman up until after the election so she cannot make more of a fool of herself than she already has by pretending she is ill.
Its a smart move - although they probably should have done this when May announced the snap election.
What Abbott should have said in the interview is something along the lines of 'yes I have read the report but it was some months ago so cannot immediately recall the recommendations, especially as for the past few weeks I have been campaigning, but I fully intend to read it again and will happily appear again when have done so". Unfortunately for her, she's not clever enough to think on her feet.

That is an easy excuse to come up with, sorry, but I feel any illness she is suffering has been brought about by her incompetence in answering questions in important interviews. Sorry if she is genuinely ill but she has just embarrassed herself once too often. Definitely not Home Secretary material. Heaven help us all if Labour win on Thursday.
Meanwhile the polls continue to show Labour closing the gap on the Tories
