Exit Poll Suggests Tories Have Lost Majority
Answers
To be honest all, I can hardly be bothered for now. I spent 16 hours yesterday in a polling station doing the clerking and am crunched. But one thing for sure, I could have told you by 12noon that something big was happening. We are of course not allowed to communicate when on duty, but it was striking how many young first time voters were turning up. It was obvious...

I thnk we all hoped they were wrong and expected they might be. Turns out it was as big a Tory disaster as the exit polls indicated. Still difficult to understand how they could throw away a lead so efficiently.
But as the commentators on the TV has said, what with possible DUP support and FS not wanting to turn up, the Tories are probably not in quite so much mire as might be the case.

"Do you think we'll ever go back to 'normal' politics i.e. Where people vote for the party they believe will do the best for the country, rather than this tactical / 'fingers up' to the establishment voting which ends up with a complete mess like this?"
I voted on my convictions, not on an attempt to "block" anyone in particular.

oh I did. I dont have the need to rewrite history. - see my post - "Dimbleby almost crying because the results are not what he liked - pundits predicting like Mystic Meg...."
The first two results ( only one before 11 I think - for slow thinkers that means " only one result of the election was declared before eleven o'clock on polling day" ) had been outliers
and this time we find the exit polls were spot on
which is kinda a pity as minority govts are classically weak and we have important Brexit negotiations in front of us
As Nigh said delphically a few weeks ago about something
" we will have to wait and see"
[ The above was a comment on the general election that occurred yesterday. The English used was not too difficult for the usual suspects, was it? I did supply explanatory notes for the difficult bits]

// Do you think we'll ever go back to 'normal' politics?//Ed
very perceptive comment Ed nestling like a rare flower amongst the weeds bleating "wot dat den ? Dat Theresa May she no good yeah".
[oh come on I had to say that - he is teacher and I want to be teacher's pet]
But do you think that this 'two fingers to politicians who dont do what you want' is at all a bad thing ?
that is ....two finger voting becomes the new normal
[ is that too complex a thought for the usual AB suspect ?
I know Ed understands ....]
