I put this on another thread, but I'm going to repeat it here.

Tory minister on #r4today says they will have a vote on reducing time limits on abortion in exchange for DUP support.

This is horrendous. What the flip has TM done? Resign, woman, FGS.
A vote is just a vote, and since modern medicine can result in premature babies surviving earlier and earlier it isn't unreasonable to debate the situation again from time to time to ensure the present situation still seems right.
As far as I am aware it is not a coalition, no one in the DUP is going to be given a cabinet job or anything like. May is simply going to try to accommodate the less controversial things they would like in return for their support. There is no present evidence of anything to start getting excited about.
Yes my one concern would be that it would not necessarily be conducive to getting Stormont up and running as there would be a lot of suspicion on Sinn Fein circles
This isn't yet another ply by Labour to muddy the waters and slip in via the back door.

LAbour didn't quite make it so if they push a bit that might help them!!

Oh yip yip force the Torys to spend valuable time fancying around naval gazing when they should be getting on with what they are supposed to be doing.

Just get on with what we have and see how it goes. For goodness sake stop winging and go and do something more interesting.

One possibility that I have thought about is the 7 NI MP's (shinn fein?) who so far have refused to take their seats. A deal that sees the DUP in power may just make them decide to actually take the seats so that they can oppose the DUP, they were sworn enemies back in the 1970s!
That would prove 'interesting'!

I couldn't agree more however there's a big movement in Social Media

Yep, I have been reading some of their stuff online ... not much mention of a petition though.
Here we go again! We've had the election and the Tories have been democratically elected, albeit a minority Government, but nevertheless a Government. Then, because people don't agree with the result, as with the referendum, they are calling for another election, a resignation or (God forbid) Corbyn to form a Government! Get a grip people!
Question Author
Kathyan It is looking VERY possible that Mrs May will not be able to form a minority government!
If ( or more likely when!) that happens the ONLY possible option is to ask Labour to try to form a government , then if they can't do it another election MUST be held. All this is part of the constitution of the UK it is what HAS to happen NOT a choice of either party!
Question Author
You also have to remember that Mrs May is now VERY unpopular with her own party! There are already plans to get rid of her from within her own cabinet ! Boris Johnson for a start is after her job and he is a very devious and clever worker! He got rid of Cameron now he is after May!
Well can we just wait and see what happens instead of second guessing all the time. It's getting boring now.
saintpeter48 //....let the people decide!//

.....do you believe the people can be relied upon to deliver the "right" answer next time?
I'd rather give the entire country to the SNP or any other outrageous group as long as it stopped that odious marxist Corbyn who has infiltrated the labour party becoming PM. He has that smile on his face mainly because he offered sweets to the young, bought with someone else's money.
Kathyann it's called debate and if you don't like what people are saying about May, tough, she deserves all she gets and SHOULD resign ...
I'm finding it interesting, Kathyan.....and I do think folk have, or at least are getting, more of a grip now........
Yes, we are second guessing......but at least that's making us think and consider rather than just quietly accepting.....x

In case anyone is interested in signing, you might be interested in doing it for this one as it has 500k signatures already.
hereIam so debate only works your way then?
Question Author
^ I signed it when there were only 25 signatures! My son emailed it to me, he was the 15th to sign it.
She is doing a Heath, trying to cling on like grim death. She should acknowledge that she has cocked up big-time and should walk away with some dignity and let someone else try to form a government.
Roll on the summer recess is what I say. I'm fed up of it but I can't stop myself reading about it.
