Now the true colours are showing.

I dont see how this can help those who are homeless TODAY. They need housing now not after loads of legal wrangling or does Corbyn believe a Government can just march the troops in and take anyone's property ignoring any laws of the land?

I am getting just a little fed up of people using this terrible tragedy to score political points. It's disgusting.

I think this is a good idea. As Corbyn says,

‘How is it acceptable that in London you have luxury buildings and luxury flats kept empty as land banking for that future while homeless people look for somewhere to live?'

Not sure if the idea is practical though.

Many of Corbyn's utterances aren't practical, Mikey.
No it is a ridiculous idea and one that couldn't work.

But what the government should be doing is taxing those owners of property that is still left vacant after a certain period of time.
use vacant properties to put people in? Sounds sensible enough. They're going to have to go somewhere.
I wonder if Lily or Gary will buy some houses for the victims of this tragedy.

Dave.
Idiot.

I wonder if he would have said that, if he had a large house, instead of his shabby looking terraced home, that needs the garden attended.
trt, that's a bit below the belt. "Shabby looking terraced house that needs its garden attended". Very judgemental IMO - at least he doesn't pretend to be something he isn't and probably been too busy recently to worry much about the garden. And before everyone jumps in - NO, I'm not a labour supporter.
I believe there may be a decent place not too far away with around 765 rooms...and only one couple living there?
Ryzen...yes, and then only part time !
//does Corbyn believe a Government can just march the troops in and take anyone's property ignoring any laws of the land?//

I don’t think he believes it at present, but I’ve no doubt that’s what he would like to see happening.

Careful Mikey, Corbyn will be requisitioning your spare rooms soon – and your caravan. ;o)
trt @10:51....thats nasty....a decent house generally follows a decent job :-)
it is disgusting and totally impractical.
Lily has offered to take in the homeless, webbo.
Emmie....I agree that it might be impracticable but why is it "disgusting" ?
because its down to the council to sort this out, you can't just goose step your way into people's property,
maybe not disgusting just totally impractical.
Lily has offered to take in the homeless, webbo.

She offered to take in refugees ... has she done that?
/// Careful Mikey, Corbyn will be requisitioning your spare rooms soon – and your caravan. ;o) ///

Hey! that could be the answer, I hate to harp on back to WW2, simply because it seems to anger some.

But during those dark times those living in large houses would receive a knock on the door from the Billiting Officer requesting one to take in bomb victim evacuees, or wounded soldiers etc.
Perhaps we should try asking the owners of empty properties first ?
What a good idea......get them into the property of the "rich."
BUT....how would you get them OUT again.

Wine cellar, double garage, lawns, barbecues,......they wouldn't give those up too quickly.
