The CPS were (following the re-run of the inquests) in a corner with nowhere to go - they have to initiate the prosecutions and let a jury (or juries) decide.

It's a shocking mess that should never have taken this long to bring to court - but much of that is the fault of the Police and their systematic cover-ups.

Ironically, the delays and falsifications could actually work against them - whereas a prompt and open investigation at the time could have laid some (most?) of the blame in other (correct?) places.

Regardless of the rights/wrongs of the CPS actions, I await with interest the first "Unfit to stand trial because he has Alzheimer's" plea from the lawyers of the newly charged ...

TGT insists despite factual evidence to the contrary that ticketless Liverpool fans were wholly to blame for the tragedy.....
I am getting roundly fed up of contradicting these fatuous comments of his.
I agree with Sunny-dave; had the 'powers-that-be' actually have had the guts to hold proper enquiries into the appalling events in the early 90's and not used smoke-screens and obfustication to hinder them the situation could have been put behind us 25 years ago......bringing closure to many of the families and allowing all to move on with their lives.

You have yourself convinced that 'ticketless fans' caused the tragedy and nothing anyone else can tell you (including the results of the inquests) will persuade you otherwise.
Asserting the 'ticketless fans' scenario year after year after year just shows how ignorant you truly are.

no, I am convinced that their presence caused the police to have to react and make the errors we all know about. They, were 1 factor that seems to be ignored in this. I refuse to accept they are blameless like all you drones. You just want to blame a few coppers 100%. I am not so easily bullied. If we prosecuted the police we should round them up and prosecute them too.

Tora and others: You really can't decide, and shouldn't, whether someone is guilty or not before the court case. Let the law take its course and if, on the evidence, you disagree, or agree, with the verdict then make your case.
